Visit to the View Point Cafe

On Tuesday 15th July, our wonderful Rose Care Club enjoyed a special outing to the View Point Café in Felixstowe – a much-loved local spot perched right on the Landguard Peninsula, with incredible views of the busy Port of Felixstowe and the Orwell estuary.

Despite the cloudy skies and a touch of rain, spirits were high, and everyone was in great form for a lunchtime treat by the water.

Clients tucked into freshly cooked fish and chips. The View Point Café is known for its homemade, locally sourced meals, and it did not disappoint.

Even on a grey day, clients still managed to enjopy the views. From the café’s terrace and wide windows, we watched giant ships glide in and out of the port, accompanied by tugboats and cranes, while smaller yachts and ferries sailed across the harbour.

One of the highlights of the day was a surprise visit from Laura’s niece, baby Syla, who is just six months old. Full of smiles and curiosity, little Syla charmed everyone, bringing joy and comfort to many of our clients who enjoyed cuddles and gentle chats with her.

Her presence brought a real sense of warmth and family to the afternoon – the kind of intergenerational connection that makes days like this so memorable.

After lunch, some of us stayed for a cup of tea and cake, sharing stories, laughter and the simple pleasure of being out together. Even though the weather wasn’t perfect, it didn’t stop the smiles – or the appetite!
